Common Scams to Avoid
Unofficial porters at baggage claim grab your luggage and demand inflated tips once outside security. Keep bags in sight and politely but firmly decline assistance unless you're ready to tip modestly.
Taxi touts inside the terminal quote flat "tourist rates" that are double the metered fare. Insist on the official taxi queue and confirm the driver uses the meter before leaving.
Currency-exchange booths just past customs advertise "no commission" but bury a poor rate in the fine print. Compare the board rate with the mid-market rate on your phone and walk to a bank-run counter or use an ATM instead.
